You must take some caution when taking the substances we will enumerate herein if you want to get rid of this sleeping disorder. Substances and sleep
Substances come in different types. They may form part of the water you drink or they may add spice to the food you eat. In some cases, they can actually be an ingredient of the medication you are taking in. Some chocolate drinks and even tea may contain this substance.
• Diet pills. In our strife to lose weight, we also want to take in diet pills. Some diet pills do give what we expect while some may be dangerous to our health. More than the harm it may impose upon our entire body system, diet pills also act as stimulators to the brain. In any event that we will take them, there is that great tendency of having trouble to get some sleep for the evening. If you want to take this substance, make sure you consult your doctor first.
• Antidepressants. Depression is always said to be a psychological cause of insomnia. This leads to the presumption that antidepressants may be used to sustain good sleep. However, there are substances in these drugs which affect the stages of REM sleep.
• Nicotine and alcohol. Heavy smokers and alcoholics tend to be faced with sleeping problems. Substances such as alcohol and nicotine are usually presumed to give harm more than good to the body. Sudden withdrawal from smoking may also lead to disrupted sleep.
These are but just some few of the facts behind substances that alter sleep. It is better to ask your doctor about them to clear your mind of any doubts on this subject matter. As much as possible, avoid these substances if you are struggling for good sleep. If you could not avoid them, gradually lessen the intake until such time that you forget about them.
