You may also have some problems in releasing growth hormones. This especially affects children who are deprived of sleep. Variability of the heart rate may also be lowered.
• Nervous system. The overall functioning of the nervous system is dependent upon the number of hours we get to sleep in a day. With enough sleep, the system works at its extreme best. Otherwise, you may tend to be drowsy the following day thus disabling you to attend to vital tasks. In some instances, you may also have poor concentration and memory. Mathematical calculations will not yield good results and physical activities are also put astray. Mood swings, confusion and hallucination may also become persistent.
• Growth hormone in children. Sleep is the key for a child to reach his full growth potential. With a growth hormone positively activated by sleep, there is a better chance to deal with school pressures like recitation and home works as well as socially interact with classmates and peers.
It is therefore enough to conclude that sleep is indeed essential to the body. Young or old, you must always pay attention to the need to have the right amount of sleep after a day’s tedious requirements. If you do not want to have any sleeping disorder like insomnia, it pays to practice good sleeping habits.
